About Funfox

We teach literacy properly, deliberately, and in the right order.

FunFox is an Australian company that provides literacy programs for students in Years 1 to 10. We focus on reading, comprehension, analysis and writing; built on a structured curriculum, taught in small groups by qualified teachers, and used by families in Australia and around the world.

A TYPICAL FUNFOX CLASS

The jobs your child will do haven't been invented yet. The skills they'll need have.

Reading closely, thinking clearly, and saying what you mean. Every generation has needed them. This one will be judged on them faster, more publicly, and by more people than any before it.So we teach them the way you’d teach anything that matters. One skill at a time, in the right order, with a teacher who reads every piece of work and tells your child exactly what to do next.

01

A warmup game

Every class is built around games, activities and peer discussion. Children are too busy having fun to notice they’re building skills that will serve them for life.

02

Guided skill building

The teacher introduces a specific skill. Children practise it together, in a group where trying and getting it wrong is completely fine.

03

Create and share

Children write, read, or analyse, then share with the group. Hearing other perspectives is where the real thinking develops.

04

Personal feedback

Every child gets specific, encouraging written feedback before the next class. One strength. One next step. Always constructive. Always kind.

what we believe

What we believe how children learn

Every decision we make, how we structure classes, how we give feedback, how we group students comes back to these four beliefs.

Writing is a skill, not a talent

Every child can learn to write well. Not some children, all of them. The difference between a strong writer and a struggling one is almost always method, not ability. We teach the method.

Fun is not the opposite of rigour

Children learn more when they’re enjoying themselves. Game-based learning, lively discussion, and peer interaction aren’t compromises — they’re the most effective delivery mechanisms we know.

Feedback is the engine of improvement

Practice without feedback creates habits, not always good ones. Every piece of work a FunFox student produces is reviewed and returned with specific, constructive, confidence-building feedback. Every time.

Small groups change everythin

A child in a class of 30 disappears. A child in a smaller group thrives. Small enough for individual attention. Large enough for peer interaction that accelerates learning. That’s our class size, always.
HOW WE'RE DIFFERENT

We're not a tutoring service. We're a thinking and expression system.

The distinction matters, because it changes everything about how we teach.

Structured curriculum

Every term has a clear focus and progression. Skills are introduced in the right order and built on deliberately, not covered at random.

Personal feedback always

No generic comments. No ticks and crosses. Every student gets written feedback on every piece of work specific to their writing, their level, and their next step.

Flipped classroom model

Homework comes before class. Students arrive primed, having already attempted the concept. Class time is used for guided practice and discussion, not passive instruction.

Progress you can see

Parents access the Learning Den portal to view homework, feedback, and class recordings. The improvement is visible, week by week, not just at report card time.

the cirriculum

Every activity in every lesson was chosen on purpose.

There is no stock content in FunFox. Every text, every game, every writing task and every feedback rubric was written by our own team, sequenced deliberately, and revised after real classes taught it.

Aligned to the Australian Curriculum

Each level maps to the literacy outcomes for that year band, so what your child learns with us supports what they’re doing at school rather than running alongside it.

Sequenced, not assembled

Six levels for primary and three for high school. Skills are introduced in a specific order because some can’t be taught until others are secure. A child joining in any term gets a complete set of skills for that term.

Built and revised in-house

Our curriculum is written by our own team, not licensed from anyone. That team includes former school leadership and specialists in linguistics and children’s literature, alongside the teachers delivering it every week.

Tested before it ships

Material that doesn’t work in a live class gets rewritten. That’s the advantage of teachers who also write the program.
FUNFOX FOR SCHOOLS

Schools use our curriculum too.

LitLeap is the school version of the FunFox program: sequenced lesson playlists, curriculum-aligned objectives, customisable classroom resources, interactive student modules and rubric-based assessment, with analytics at student, class and school level.

It’s running in schools across Sydney, where it’s used as the English curriculum rather than alongside one. One of those schools recorded a 22% increase in students reaching the Exceeding band in NAPLAN after two terms.

The problem we built FunFox to solve was never a problem with children. It’s how little time a classroom teacher is given for literacy. LitLeap hands them a full sequence so they don’t have to build one.

OUR PROGRAMS

Four programs. One goal. Every age covered.

From the first weeks of school to Year 10, FunFox has a structured, curriculum-aligned program for every stage.

Years 1–2

Foundation Club

Years 3–6

Writers Club

Best for: Children who need to build stronger, more confident and creative writing skills.

Children explore descriptive, narrative, persuasive and informative writing,  not through drills, but through guided activities that make expressing themselves feel natural and enjoyable.

Years 3–6

Readers Club

Through real books, stories and poetry, children develop the curiosity and analytical tools to go beyond what they read, and understand the world more deeply.

Years 7–10

High School Club

Best for: Students developing stronger essay writing, analysis and argumentation skills.

Students develop the essay writing, analysis and argumentation skills that high school demands, through structured discussion and genuine literary exploration.
